EPIC MAD MAX TRAILER

From WIRED: "After watching this clip we wanted to file this under 'Greatest Movie Ever Made' even though it’s probably a little too soon to make that call. That said, we’ve got a feeling, deep in our bones, that this movie will be spectacular. George Miller looks like he’s out for bloody vengeance, seeking to rain down hate on anyone who’s dared make an 'action' movie since he left the post-apocalypse behind."

FRANK MILLER'S DARK KNIGHT RETURNS

I originally found this trailer on Big Fanboy. DC always does an amazing job with their animated films (New Frontier, Wonder Woman, All-Star Superman, Batman: Year One). I'm looking forward to their treatment of Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns.

SPIRITS INTERVIEW

Awhile ago, my friend Kyle Kondas and I met at Uptown Bar to discuss my work in comics. It's part of his SPIRITS video series (click here for more details).

There was a frame/rate issue. The audio is slightly off in a few areas, but all in all, a good interview. I talk a lot and drink my beer.

UPDATE: The audio has been corrected!

KICK ME. SUPPORT INDIE COMICS.

After only a day, I'm already at the half-way point for my goal on Kickstarter (click here for my project page). I'm trying to raise money to cover the printing and shipping costs for ONE NIGHT STAND. Here's the promotional video I put together...

It'd be great if we can meet our goal. However, at this point, I'm kinda hoping we can raise beyond the $500 goal, which would allow us to do even more with the mini-comic. All support is greatly appreciated. (click here for more details and updates)

TALKING ABOUT DALLAS COMIC CON

Is it a shameless plug if it's posted on my blog? Free HOW TO LOSE BIG buttons! Free bookmarks! And lots of cool people will be there.

You can follow related twitter posts about Dallas Comic Con here. I'll try to update throughout the day. See you tomorrow.

MY GENIUS IS KINDA LAME

Scott Kurtz posted this video, and I wanted to pass it along. "A must watch for anyone who struggles with being creative on a regular basis." A few months ago, April and I saw Elizabeth Gilbert as part of the Arts & Letters Live program hosted by the Dallas Museum of Art. She is a true inspiration and a teacher to this generation of writers and artists.

I watched the video last night, and the timing couldn't have been better.

GENE YANG ON AMERICA DOT GOV

Here's a great video of Gene Yang talking about AMERICAN BORN CHINESE. We interviewed Gene in 2007 on FbR's Indie Show (episode #365). He's such a nice guy.

The America.gov website also features an interview with Gene.

WE WANT HAPPY COWS.

My friend Clay Harrison videotaped a small portion of yesterday's Ray Bradbury panel at the Mesquite Library. Watch in horror as I dumb-down America's comic book history.

If you want a more interesting (and intelligent) perspective on comic book history, you need this.
