Um, yeah, I know. Consider it a learning experience or just sick curiousity, but I've signed up to participate in the 24 Hour Comics Day event hosted by Lone Star Comics. I will be at the comic book store from 11 AM Saturday morning April 24th until 11 AM Sunday morning April 25th. Yep, all through the night!
The goal? To create a complete 24 page comic book (pencilled and inked) in 24 continuous hours. No direct preparation is allowed-- no sketches, designs, or plot summaries can precede the 24 hour period. I can bring reference materials, my own art supplies, food, music, etc.
There will be lots of talented people participating in this dare-- Josh Howard and Scott Kurtz for instance. And then, there will be me. The way I figure it, I have ten days to become a better artist. Right?
Good, bad, or just plain ugly, I'll post my 24 hour comic online for all to enjoy. With the iPod and a 12 pack of Coca-Cola, I'll be fine. Come by the store and say "hi".
